RM1 FAQS

Here we answer the most common questions about the Maeving RM1.

PERFORMANCE

What is the top speed of the Maeving RM1?

The top speed is 45 mph.

What is the range of the Maeving RM1?

The Maeving RM1 has a total range of up to 80 miles. You can choose to ride with single or dual batteries, with each battery providing up to 40 miles of range.

What factors affect the range of the Maeving RM1?

The range of the RM1 is impacted by numerous variables. These are:

  • Number of batteries in use (1 battery = 40 miles; 2 batteries = 80 miles)
  • Extreme temperatures
  • Wind strength
  • Grade of terrain
  • Rider weight
  • Riding style (aggressive acceleration vs. tempered acceleration)
  • Average riding speed

What is the real-world range of the Maeving RM1?

Due to the high number of variables that affect range, real-world range can be difficult to calculate. However, after extensively testing riders ranging from 75 kg to 110 kg, we found that:

  • Ride mode (1): 25-35 miles per battery
  • Balanced mode (2): 35-40 miles per battery
  • Range mode (3): 40-43 miles per battery

How can I optimise the performance of the Maeving RM1?

The three ride modes on the Maeving RM1 (Range, Balanced, and Ride) allow you to optimise your ride between speed and range. When not in use, store your battery or batteries at room temperature and take care when handling the batteries.

What is the power output of the Maeving RM1?

The RM1 is powered by a 3.0 kW Bosch hub motor with a 4.4 kW peak. This is part of a custom-built Bosch drivetrain.

BATTERY TECHNOLOGY AND CHARGING

What is the difference between the single battery and dual battery version of the Maeving RM1?

They are exactly the same bike, both with space for up to two batteries. Depending on your particular transport needs, you can order the RM1 with just one battery (to give you up to 40 miles of range) or with two batteries (to give you up to 80 miles of range). However, when you move from one battery to two batteries, there is a slight power increase from 70 Amps to 100 Amps.

Can I add a second battery at a later date?

Yes, all Maeving RM1 motorcycles are built to facilitate two batteries. Should you purchase a single battery and wish to add a second at a later date, you will be able to do so.

What are the batteries in the Maeving RM1?

The batteries are custom-designed with 18650 LG MJ1 cells in a bespoke aluminum casing.

Are the RM1 batteries compatible with the RM1S?

No, the connector, battery compartment and physical size of the batteries are all different.

How can I charge the Maeving RM1?

Charging is simple: remove the battery, or batteries, and charge from any standard socket – just as you would charge your smartphone.

How long does it take to charge the battery?

To charge from 0-100% will take under 4 hours.

To charge from 20-80% will take approximately 2 hours.

SPECIFICATIONS AND CUSTOMIZATIONS

Can I add a second passenger?

Can I adjust the seat height?

How much storage space is there on the Maeving RM1?

The space in the storage tank (provided the second battery isn’t in there) is approximately 10 litres.
